Sorry, Arlen. Your new friends aren't playing along. Sestak to challenge Specter in PA Dem primary

Rep. Joe Sestak (D-PA), confirmed to Talking Points Memo earlier this week that, pending the approval of his family, he would challenge Sen. Arlen Specter in the Democratic Primary in 2010. Sestak was considering a run before Specter announced that he would be switching parties, which made his involvement much murkier. Democratic activists and the more liberal wing of the Democratic base have been advocating Sestak's run, even though Sestak is a moderate to conservative member of the House Democratic Caucus, and a member of the Blue Dog Caucus. Both President Obama and Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell have pledged to campaign for Specter.

Looks like Arlen is running out of political parties.
