Congressional Pro-Life Republicans ask President Obama to reject FOCA

The Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) is legislation pending in both chambers of Congress that will remove all limitations that individual states have signed into law. Partial birth abortion bans, parental notification laws, mandatory counseling/waiting periods and any other state laws that stand in the way of unlimited abortion on demand would be wiped off the books by this one piece of federal legislation.

In 2007, then Presidential candidate Obama pledged before a pro-abortion group, "The first thing I'd do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. On this fundamental issue, I will not yield. And Planned Parenthood will not yield."

A letter signed by 80 pro-life Congressional Republicans was sent to Obama in hopes that he will back down from his FOCA pledge. Here is a link to the letter and its signers:
